Job Overview

Harold Jones Landscape Inc is seeking an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Foreman to lead high-end residential maintenance crews in the Santa Barbara and Montecito areas. This field-based leadership role requires someone with a sharp eye for detail, the ability to set daily task plans, and the professionalism to maintain pristine landscapes for discerning clientele. Youll be responsible for executing property-specific checklists, operating landscape equipment, managing crews, and ensuring every site is completed to our rigorous standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Crew Leadership & Daily Execution
    • Assign tasks and lead day-to-day operations for on-site landscape maintenance crews

    • Ensure timely arrival, adherence to schedule, and efficient task execution across multiple properties

    • Conduct tailgate safety talks and enforce safe equipment usage and jobsite behavior

  • Quality Control & Property Standards
    • Execute and enforce property-specific checklists on every visit

    • Perform final walkthroughs to confirm work quality before departure

    • Identify and report issues (e.g., irrigation problems, plant health concerns, damage) to the Maintenance Project Manager

  • Equipment Operation & Maintenance
    • Operate mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping tools

    • Ensure all equipment is fueled, cleaned, and properly maintained weekly

    • Coordinate any equipment issues or replacements with management

  • Client Sensitivity & Site Presentation
    • Maintain a professional appearance and respectful demeanor on all properties

    • Uphold white-glove service standards expected by high-end residential clients

    Qualifications
      • Required Experience & Skills
        • 3+ years of experience in residential or estate landscape maintenance

        • Prior experience leading or supervising a landscaping crew

        • Strong understanding of mowing, edging, pruning, and irrigation basics

        • Reliable transportation to and from job sites in the Santa Barbara/Montecito area

        • Valid drivers license is a plus

        • Bilingual Spanish/English

      • Preferred Experience
        • Familiarity with high-end residential property standards

        • Experience working alongside landscape maintenance project managers

        • Basic knowledge of irrigation systems (identifynot repairbroken heads, timers, etc.)

        Work Schedule
        • Full-Time Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM3:30 PM
        • Field-based; daily travel to high-end residential sites in Montecito/Santa Barbara
        • Occasional Saturdays during peak season

        • 100% On-site at client properties; candidates must be local or have reliable daily transportation
