Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Temporary Service Technician II (Temp Service Tech II) in National City, CA

Position Summary

The Temp Service Tech II performs intermediate-level installation, operation, maintenance, and removal of temporary services onboard U.S. Naval vessels. This position works with limited supervision and is expected to complete assigned tasks independently while assisting in training and guiding entry-level technicians. Temporary services include temporary lighting, ventilation, 110V and 440V power distribution, power mules, transformers, and associated equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Independently install, operate, and remove temporary services onboard U.S. Naval vessels and in shipyard environments.

  • Lay out temporary service installations using drawings, sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions.

  • Install and secure temporary power panels, cables, transformers, lighting, and ventilation systems in compliance with safety and shipyard requirements.

  • Perform functional checks and basic testing of temporary power and lighting systems.

  • Troubleshoot common issues with temporary service equipment and systems and report deficiencies to supervision.

  • Coordinate with other trades, rigging crews, and crane operators as required.

  • Assist in mentoring and training Temp Service Tech I personnel.

  • Ensure work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and organized condition.

  • Adhere to all safety procedures, including electrical safety and Lockout/Tagout requirements.

  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Two (2) to four (4) years of related shipyard, industrial, or temporary service experience.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of temporary electrical and ventilation systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, layouts, and specifications.

  • Proficient use of hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical test equipment.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to military and government installations and private shipyards.

Pay Range

  • The pay range for this is $21.00 to $32.00 per hour. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, education and experience.

  • Frequent standing, sitting, walking, handling, feeling with hands, reaching with arms.

  • Regular communication (hearing/speaking).

  • See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) and ability to see details at a distance.

  • Able to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways, and up and down antenna masts/yardarms (onboard ships).

  • Bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.

  • Keep hand and arm steady while moving arm or while holding arm and hand in one position and to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects of varying sizes.

  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching.

  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

  • Noise conditions range from very quiet to some noise.

  • Machine shop environment.
