-This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.
This role supports the development, planning and execution of development, qualification and integrated vehicle testing for New Glenn First Stage. This includes fluids, pneumatic, cryogenic, and electro-mechanical systems.
This role will serve as a Test SME embedded in a design team, enabling high-rate testing of high-quality and low-cost systems using design, automation, and program-activities.

Responsibilities:
Lead teams in pushing back on requirements and implementation on key initiatives aimed at simplification and increasing speed
Lead test planning, design, and execution efforts for new product development on IPT teams
Design test setups, procedures, and tooling that enable efficient, repeatable testing with clear pass/fail criteria
Collaborate with Responsible Engineers to understand critical parameters requiring testing and develop appropriate test methodologies
Perform hands-on testing of pneumatic and electro-mechanical systems
Develop and implement test metrics to track progress, efficiency, and quality
Coordinate across the entire New Glenn team to understand the full scope of testing requirements
Interface with Test teams, test facilities, and manufacturing test teams to prepare for test article availability and testing
Collect, process, and analyze test data to drive engineering decisions
Develop and maintain test documentation including procedures, reports, and anomaly investigations
Lead continuous improvement initiatives for testing
Coordinate with test article owners, design engineers, test engineers, production test engineering, and procurement to ensure all aspects of the tests are executing to plan.
Identify risk, document, communicate, develop mitigation plans and drive to an acceptable level
Communicate status, critical paths, challenges, and recommended solutions
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
7+ years of experience in test engineering, with emphasis on fluid systems or electro-mechanical components
Demonstrated experience designing test setups and tooling for complex mechanical or fluid systems
Experience with test planning, execution, and data collection/analysis
Proficiency in scripting or coding for test automation and data processing (Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar)
Experience applying LEAN principles or Theory of Constraints to optimize testing workflows
Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple test activities simultaneously
Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interface with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Engineering or related technical field
10+ years of experience in aerospace test engineering or related field
Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, or propulsion system testing
Demonstrated leadership in test process improvement initiatives
Experience with design and implementation of automated test systems
Knowledge of statistical methods for test data analysis
Experience with requirements verification and validation processes
Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and practices
Experience with risk management in testing environments
Track record of mentoring junior engineers in test methodologies
Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $145,188.00 - $203,263.20Other site ranges may differ
