About This Position
If you have experience in estate planning, you may be an excellent addition to our growing law firm. We are looking for a highly analytical candidate with good negotiation and organizing skills who can work full-time.
As our estate planning attorney, you will draft wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for clients and their families. To ensure that an estate's management is handled in accordance with the wishes of the estate owner, this position requires a significant level of responsibility. Compensation:$95,000+ yearly DOE
Responsibilities:- Keep client files properly organized and up to date
- Communicate with clients about plans for dispersing their assets
- Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process
- Represent clients in court proceedings as needed
- Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action
- Designing and drafting wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents
- Advising clients in matters related to estate planning, tax planning, and probate
- Researching and interpreting laws, rules, and regulations related to estate planning
- Working with clients to develop a comprehensive estate plan that meets their individual needs
- Reviewing and updating existing estate plans
- Guiding trustees, executors, and beneficiaries
- Facilitating the funding of clients’ trusts.
- Coordinating with financial advisors and other professionals on estate planning matters
- Great communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations
- Working knowledge of title insurance, wills, trusts, property management, and residential and commercial real estate law, including litigation
- At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on on estate planning and probate law issues is necessary
- 4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this position
- Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association)
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
- Bar admission in Pennsylvania (NJ would be a plus)
- 3+ years of experience in estate planning
- Fluency in estate planning principles and laws
- Strong research and writing skills
- Ability to interpret and explain complex legal documents
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of fiduciary accounting practices
- Experience in drafting and negotiating trust agreements
- Knowledge of / commitment to learn tax laws as they relate to estates and trusts
- Ability to assess the client's personal and financial situation and form a plan accordingly
