About This Position
Who We Are
At Firestorm, we're building toward a future defined by incontestable defense logistics. That means equipping warfighters with mission-critical capabilities at the point of need. Not in months, not from a depot halfway around the world, but now, in the field, on demand.
We're a VC-backed defense technology company pioneering an expeditionary manufacturing ecosystem that produces and sustains modular, mission-adaptable unmanned systems, parts and components for repair and sustainment, and the software to transform point solutions into a network of strategic assets.
We're building a team of engineers, operators, and problem-solvers who believe the future of deterrence cannot rely only on expensive, exquisite platforms made in centralized factories. We build and field affordable systems using distributed production capabilities at the edge. If you want to solve challenging problems that will reshape the future of defense, you're in the right place.
About the Role
Firestorm is a fast-moving defense technology company operating at the frontier of autonomy and national security. We move quickly, think clearly, and build systems that matter. The stories we tell externally are a direct extension of that mission and are treated with the same level of rigor.
We are seeking a Podcast Producer and Media Relations Coordinator to sit within the Office of the CEO and own two connected mandates: end-to-end production and distribution of the Firestorm podcast and the development of external communications that shape how Firestorm is positioned across strategic initiatives. This is not a coordination role focused on execution alone. You will own narrative development, drive go-to-market storytelling, and produce the materials that represent Firestorm to partners, media, and the public. The individual in this role will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to ensure the right message, reaches the right audience, at the right time.
The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in high-visibility, high-impact settings, can handle complex topics, and is comfortable working with operators, investors, policy experts, and technical leaders.
What You'll Do
- Own the podcast end to end, including episode planning, guest sourcing, scheduling, recording coordination, publishing, and promotion
- Develop episode topics and series arcs aligned with company priorities, brand positioning, and target audience
- Prepare guest briefs, run of show documents, and manage release and consent workflows
- Maintain the podcast calendar and ensure consistent production cadence and timely delivery
- Ensure consistency in tone, messaging, and brand across all episodes and distribution channels
- Track podcast performance metrics and translate insights into content and distribution improvements
- Coordinate with design and web teams to maintain podcast pages, artwork, and show notes
- Drive narrative development and external positioning for Office of the CEO priority initiatives
- Produce partner-facing and go-to-market materials including decks, one-pagers, and branded collateral
- Draft press releases, announcements, and external communications and manage distribution timing
- Support content creation across written, visual, and video formats
- Manage and operate podcast and media production tools and platforms, including recording, editing, publishing, and content management
- Identify opportunities to improve storytelling, content workflows, and media engagement, and implement solutions independently
- Adapt messaging for diverse audiences including technical experts, policy stakeholders, investors, and the public
- Shape Firestorm’s external narrative by working directly with leadership to craft and amplify strategic messages
- Curate and repurpose content across podcast, website, and external channels to extend reach and reinforce messaging
- Maintain consistency and quality across all external communications and media outputs
- Track media coverage and engagement metrics and provide insights to leadership
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field
- 2+ years of experience producing podcasts or media content with demonstrated ownership of delivered outputs
- U.S. Citizenship required due to ITAR regulations, with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
- Excellent written communication skills across formats including briefs, show notes, press releases, and partner materials
- Familiarity with podcast publishing platforms, distribution tools, and content management systems
- Experience coordinating with external guests, senior stakeholders, or media contacts
- Experience producing external-facing communications materials such as decks, one-pagers, press releases, or brand assets
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and high ownership expectations
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in defense, autonomy, emerging technology, and national security
- Ability to translate complex technical or policy topics into clear and compelling narratives
- Strong storytelling instincts and editorial judgment
- Comfort working with senior executives, operators, and subject matter experts
- Experience supporting or working closely with C-suite leadership
- Familiarity with design tools such as Canva, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience analyzing media engagement metrics and translating insights into actionable recommendations
- High attention to detail and strong follow-through
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to identify needs, build processes, and improve them over time
