Job Summary
The Engineering Coordinator supports the Director of Project Engineering by coordinating engineering activities across multiple concurrent projects. This role serves as an organizational and communication hub between Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Engineering leadership to ensure engineering tasks, schedules, and deliverables are accurately tracked, maintained, and communicated. The Engineering Coordinator is responsible for maintaining project trackers, supporting Project Engineers with administrative and data management tasks, and providing timely, accurate project information to the Director of Project Engineering. This position plays a key role in engineering visibility, workload coordination, reporting accuracy, and the efficient execution of engineering work across the organization.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate engineering efforts across multiple projects by working closely with Project Engineers and Project Managers.
- Maintain and update engineering project trackers, dashboards, and assignment logs to reflect scope, schedules, progress, and resource allocation.
- Responsible for time and expense validation across the Project Engineering community.
- Assist Project Engineers with administrative and coordination tasks, including data entry, documentation organization, and status tracking.
- Collect, consolidate, and communicate engineering status updates, risks, and key metrics to the Director of Project Engineering.
- Support engineering planning, workload balancing, and prioritization by providing accurate and up-to-date project data.
- Participate in project kickoff, handoff, planning, and coordination meetings to capture engineering requirements and action items.
- Track engineering milestones, dependencies, deliverables, and percent completion in alignment with overall project schedules.
- Monitor changes in engineering scope and ensure updates are reflected in trackers and communicated to appropriate stakeholders.
- Serve as a liaison between Engineering and Project Management to ensure alignment on schedules, priorities, and constraints.
- Identify gaps, delays, or inconsistencies in engineering data and escalate issues to the Director of Project Engineering as needed.
- Maintain centralized repositories for engineering coordination data, trackers, and reference materials.
- Support continuous improvement of engineering coordination processes, tracking tools, and reporting standards.
- Ensure engineering information is accurate, timely, and presented in a clear, consistent, and actionable manner.

Work Schedule
This position works in office. General office hours are M-F, 7a-4p or 8a-5p. Working hours will vary when working at a job site to meet the requirements of the project as needed.

Requirements:Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of engineering project workflows, coordination needs, and cross-functional dependencies.
- Ability to manage and maintain complex project trackers and status reports across multiple concurrent projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and/or similar tracking tools, including formulas, filters, and structured data organization.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for conveying technical and schedule-related information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, project managers, and engineering leadership.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and consistency.
- Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and present it in a clear, executive-ready format.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify coordination risks and propose practical solutions.
- Ability to work independently while following established processes and reporting structures.
- Experience supporting engineering, technical, or project-based teams in an administrative or coordination capacity.
- Professional judgment to escalate issues, risks, or inconsistencies appropriately and proactively.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- High School Diploma;
- 2+ years of experience in an operations environment where multi-tasking and administrative duties have been performed.
- Experience coordinating activities with engineering and project management teams preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
