About This Position
The Haven at Columbus, our assisted living and memory care community in Columbus, GA, is seeking a Full-time Cook/Prep to join our team. As a Cook/Prep, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our residents receive nutritious and delicious meals while maintaining a safe and clean kitchen environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and standardized recipes
- Ensure that all meals are served on time and at the appropriate temperature
- Assist in the planning and development of menus in collaboration with the Dietary Manager
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures, including storage, labeling, and rotation of food items
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of kitchen supplies and ingredients
- Collaborate with the dietary team to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences of residents
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and workstations
- Adhere to all safety and health regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Cook/Prep, preferably in an assisted living/memory care community or similar setting
- Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
- Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly
