Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direct oversight to Production, Quality, Materials, Engineering, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) teams to ensure operational excellence.
- Build, develop, and retain a high-performing team through effective recruitment, training, coaching, and succession planning.
- Serve as a company representative in customer interactions, ensuring structured support processes that enhance overall customer satisfaction.
- Partner closely with Human Resources to develop and maintain operational policies, manage workforce planning, and oversee employee-related HR matters tied to facility and organizational needs.
- Collaborate with the Regional Controller to analyze, manage, and report operational variances across the income statement and balance sheet, driving financial performance and profitability.
- Contribute as an active member of the leadership team in monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews, including budget planning and execution.
- Organize and lead monthly operations communication meetings to ensure alignment and transparency across teams.
- Develop, implement, and sustain robust systems and processes that drive flawless operational performance, incorporating Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Establish and maintain visual manufacturing and reporting systems that promote quality excellence, on-time delivery, and a safe working environment.
- Lead advanced quality and manufacturing initiatives while partnering with product development to support Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) for high-quality product output.
- Support the achievement and maintenance of ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016, and ISO 14001:2015 certifications.
- Act as the process owner for the Operations Business Operating System (BOS), including the development and revision of procedures, work instructions, standards, and documentation.
- Monitor and report departmental KPIs, implement corrective and preventive actions, and drive year-over-year performance improvements.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives across all operational functions.
- Support customer visits through facility tours and demonstrations of quality systems and operational controls.
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain legal and regulatory conformity across all operational activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or a related manufacturing/engineering discipline.
- Proven experience in a Director of Operations role within the automotive industry or a comparable leadership position.
- Experience with OEM supplier portals.
- Strong expertise in APQP, PPAP, and FMEA methodologies.
- Knowledge of automotive seating regulations and industry compliance requirements.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand complex manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated success in attracting, developing, and retaining top-tier talent.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels and with external stakeholders.
- Strong financial and business acumen with experience managing profitable operations.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, diverse, and dynamic environment.
- Strong organizational, planning, prioritization, negotiation, and data presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with PLEX ERP systems preferred.
- Experience in composite materials manufacturing is a plus
