About This Position

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is responsible for the enablement, stability, and evolution of franchisee and corporate operational systems supporting restaurant operations. Oversees core back-office capabilities including labor management, timekeeping, payroll, and inventory management, ensuring these platforms reliably support both franchise and corporate stakeholders. Owns the product roadmap for Jack's engagement with Restaurant365 (R365) and Harri to ensure both platforms are seamlessly synced with the needs of business. Provides leadership for a major IT initiative to replace Microsoft Identity Manager with Clarity's Identity Lifecycle Management (ILM) system.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accountable for capturing requirements, prioritizing, and delivering critical features, balancing operational impact, franchisee experience, and technical feasibility to support these efforts. Areas of engagement include but are not limited to payroll accuracy and cybersecurity compliance, integrating franchisee workforce data from Harri and corporate employee data from UKG, and partnering closely with IT, Security, HR, Payroll, and Operations to ensure secure, scalable identity and access management across the enterprise.

Collaborates with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless integration and deployment of Back of House, and ancillary, systems.

Works closely with IT, Operations, Enterprise Data, and other departments to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.

Fosters a collaborative environment, promoting effective communication and coordination among various internal and external teams involved in the BoH replacement project.

Manages the vendor relationship, contractual timelines, and ensures deliverables meet quality standards.

Collaborates with vendor management to implement ways of working, definition of squads, and allocation of resources.

Drives the development of comprehensive BoH roadmaps for Jack in the Box and in collaboration with our BoH vendors.

Ensures roadmaps meet the current and future needs of the business.

Authors and maintains prioritized backlogs for internal development squads and collaborate with BoH vendor product leadership on backlogs for BoH vendor squads.

Manages feature definition and produce user stories. Collaborates with internal and/or BoH vendor tech leads to refine stories to developer ready status.

Manages the technical integration definition, design, and development and/or enhancement of APIs to allow efficient access of data, stored and managed in the BoH, by external systems.

Establishes SLAs/SLOs, and observability requirements for these integrations.

Champions exceptional user experience for employees interacting with the BoH system.

Understands current business process & advocate changes for efficiency by working closely with Ops & SMEs.

Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education - Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Computer Science, Business, or related field.

Experience - 7 years in Product Management and 4+ years direct management of large-scale BoH systems including leading the replacement or implementation of BoH systems within the QSR industry. Experience supporting franchisee-based operating models and multi-entity organizations. Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) or Identity Lifecycle Management (ILM) systems.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Proven product management experience, including ownership of product roadmaps and backlog prioritization.

Ability to lead post-MVP product maturation and feature expansion specifically in BoH technology, within the quickservice restaurant industry.

Deep understanding of restaurant labor management, timekeeping, payroll, and inventory processes.

Familiarity with Restaurant365 (R365), Harri, UKG, or comparable platforms preferred.

Understanding of cybersecurity, access controls, and compliance requirements tied to payroll systems.

Strong integration experience across HRIS, workforce management, and financial systems preferred.

Ability to partner effectively with IT, HR, Payroll, Finance, Security, and Operations teams.

Experience managing vendors and third-party implementation partners .

Experience with building custom integrations to SAAS software products.

Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering complex technology initiatives on time and within budget.

Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.

Strong background in authoring user stories, creating roadmaps, and collaborating with operations.

Demonstrated success in utilizing data to inform product enhancements and prioritization.

Familiarity with agile methodologies and a track record of successful product delivery.

Knowledge of QSR-specific technologies and strategic industry roadmaps.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Demonstrated integrity and ethical behavior.

Physical Requirements: - Ability to hear/speak clearly in person and on the telephone. Ability to operate a computer keyboard.

The range for this position is $124,900 - $175,100 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego.
