This role offers the opportunity to play a critical part in designing life-safety systems that protect people, buildings, and communities. As a Fire Alarm Designer, you will develop detailed design drawings, manage submittals, and ensure compliance with codes and customer requirements. Working closely with sales teams, technicians, CAD drafters, and project managers, you will support projects from concept through completion. The position requires both technical precision and strong collaboration skills, as youll help translate customer needs into effective fire alarm system designs. Accountabilities:
  • Create accurate and code-compliant fire alarm system design drawings and documentation for commercial and industrial projects.
  • Track project submittals, approvals, and revisions to ensure alignment with customer specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical support to sales teams, technicians, CAD drafters, and project managers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Interpret project requirements and adapt designs based on evolving customer needs or site conditions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless integration of fire alarm systems with mechanical and other building systems.
  • Maintain detailed project records and ensure timely delivery of design packages.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance design processes and efficiency.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years of experience in fire alarm system design.
  • NICET certification preferred, with foundational knowledge of how mechanical systems interface with fire alarm systems.
  • Proficiency in drafting and CAD software, along with strong general computer skills.
  • Familiarity with multiple electronic building systems considered a plus.
  • Solid understanding of applicable fire and life-safety codes and standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate effectively with internal teams and customers.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities.
