About This Position

Office / Operations ManagerPosition Summary

The Office / Operations Manager leads daily service and installation operations to ensure efficient order fulfillment, operational excellence, and achievement of financial goals. This role manages office staff, supports field operations, drives process improvements, and maintains high customer satisfaction. Strong HVAC and/or plumbing industry experience and leadership skills are required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee Service Department operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and profitability.

  • Develop and implement best practices to improve workflow and performance.

  • Hire, train, and manage office staff, including dispatch oversight.

  • Manage order processing, scheduling, billing, collections, payroll, and customer inquiries.

  • Monitor financial performance and resource allocation to meet profit objectives.

  • Partner with Sales, Service, and Installation teams to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Conduct performance reviews and support employee development.

  • Maintain quality standards through job site oversight and issue resolution.

  • Ensure clear communication across departments.

  • Stay current with industry standards and product updates.

  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as needed.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; OR

  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience; OR

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Industry Knowledge

  • Experience in plumbing, building automation, or related service operations.

  • Familiarity with energy management and mechanical systems preferred.

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Solid analytical and financial acumen.

  • Ability to interpret technical documents and solve operational problems.

Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • EPA Universal Certification preferred.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform occasional physical tasks.

  • Willingness to visit job sites and work in varying environmental conditions.

  • Flexibility for overtime or weekend work as needed.
