About This Position

Job Overview:

Under the direction of the Manager, the Clerk performs administrative/clerical duties within the department.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 0-6 months prior experience.
  • Effective communication skills
  • Must be able to enter data and retrieve data from the hospital information system
  • May be scheduled to work weekends and overtime based upon the needs of the department

Preferred:

Essential Functions:

  • Opens Clinical Lab Office

  • Registers Andrology patients

  • Calls in critical results to physicians and nursing homes
  • Processes out to the state newborn screenings
  • Schedules appointments
  • Registers and drop off specimens and orders from submitters
  • Scans requisitions
  • Answers telephones, enters prescribed data into computer systems, and performs general clerical work.
  • Performs additional tasks as requested
