Summary: The Commercial Credit Analyst I prepares commercial credit memorandums for new loan transactions, renewals, and modifications. Responsible for spreading financial statements, researching industry trends, assessing collateral, reviewing search reports, and performing debt service coverage and financial ratio calculations. This is an entry-level role that requires problem solving and investigative skills, with the opportunity to learn about the banking industry.
Job Description:
Credit Analysis
- Spread both business and personal financial statements to perform financial analysis and repayment assessment.
- Conduct financial analysis, industry and market assessment, repayment capacity, collateral coverage, and an assessment of guarantor support on smaller CRE, C&I and Construction loan transactions through the preparation of written commercial credit memorandums.
- Research and analyze third party industry and market reports. Review third party search reports including, but not limited to, UCC lien searches, personal credit reports, judgment searches, property searches.
- Perform annual credit file reviews as needed.
Credit and Risk Rating
- Run business and personal credit scores to determine approval or decline through an automated quick decision tool.
- Support the assignment of risk ratings and document upgrade and downgrade triggers in accordance with the Bank’s Internal Asset Review Policy
Job Knowledge and Compliance
- Practice ability to independently build job knowledge and understand policies and procedures.
- Make recommendations to management for process enhancement as needed.
- Ensure commercial credit transactions are in full compliance with all internal credit policies.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or another related field required;
- Strong aptitude for figures and accuracy;
- Proven problem solving, decision making, underwriting and analytical skills;
- Ability to work independently, effectively, and efficiently under time constraints;
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments with good organizational and time management skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer software including MS Office applications and other specialized credit analysis and lending software.

Schedule:
- This role is eligible for a hybrid schedule: 3 days in the office and 2 days work from home, based on business needs. This arrangement may change without notice.
