Job Overview
A&H Metals Inc. is seeking a strategic, hands-on Purchasing Agent to lead and oversee all procurement activities in our custom metal fabrication and installation operations. This role is critical to ensuring high-quality materials, components, tools, and services are sourced competitively while supporting on-time production and installation schedules.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical procurement expertise with practical knowledge of metal fabrication, supply chains, and shop-floor operations. You will play a key role in cost control, supplier negotiation, inventory management, and aligning purchasing decisions with production timelines and customer commitments.

Key Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, schedule, and control all purchasing activities to support project timelines and maximize company profitability.
- Source high-quality materials, equipment, tools, and supplies at competitive pricing.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships; negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Analyze market trends and supply chain conditions to forecast material availability and pricing impacts.
- Align purchasing decisions with production schedules and customer deadlines.
- Oversee inventory levels to minimize waste, lead times, and excess stock.
- Manage and track outstanding purchase orders to ensure timely fulfillment.
- Inspect incoming materials and supplies to confirm compliance with specifications.
- Resolve vendor disputes, grievances, and claims efficiently and professionally.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company procedures and safety standards.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in purchasing and supply chain managementpreferably within metal fabrication or manufacturing environments.
- Bachelors Degree preferred (High School Diploma or GED required).
- Strong understanding of metal materials, fabrication processes, and steel/metal supply chains preferred.
- Proven negotiation and vendor management experience.
- Solid knowledge of inventory control and cost-reduction strategies.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency with purchasing systems, Microsoft Office, and related software tools.
- Valid drivers license required.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
