The Deviated Pricing Manager will report to the Senior Director of Strategic Pricing and lead a specialized team focused on execution and management of deviated pricing (2P/3P) contracts. This role is critical in ensuring that negotiated manufacturer agreements are accurately reflected in our systems and that customer accounts are correctly mapped to their respective pricing structures. The Deviated Pricing Manager will be instrumental in driving process improvements, ensuring contract compliance, and optimizing the integrity of our PROS and PeopleSoft pricing environments.

The individual should be highly analytical, detail-oriented, and possess deep experience in contract administration within distribution environment. Success in this role requires building strong collaborative relationships with Sales, Merchandizing, and Vendor partners to deliver a seamless pricing experience for the Customer.

This is a full-time position that works out of SP Richards’ company headquarters in Atlanta, GA.



Location: Atlanta, GA (near Battery Center)



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage Deviated Contract Lifecycle: Oversee the end-to-end implementation of 2P and 3P contracts, ensuring accurate net-cost, margin, and expiration management.
  • System Administration (PeopleSoft): Serve as the subject matter expert on assigning pricing contracts to customer accounts in PeopleSoft.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the Deviated Pricing team by recruiting, training, and retaining talent specialized in contract and data management and vendor relations.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate the workflow between Sales requests and system activation to reduce lead times and improve pricing accuracy.
  • Strategic Collaboration:Partner with Merchandizing and Sales on a proactive way for:
    • Deal renewal (ensure no lapse between old and new deal due to renewal)
    • Existing deal activation (available deals that are not currently leveraged)
    • Existing deal enhancement (add more products with bigger discounts)
    • New deal requests (proactively work with vendors on carving out new deals for existing customers, or work on attracting new customers with new deals)

  • Team Management: Lead the deviated pricing team, provide training, and support to ensure high performance and continuous professional development. Foster a collaborative and results-driven team environment.
  • System Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of PeopleSoft (or similar ERP) pricing modules and a deep understanding of how customer accounts link to multi-layered contract structures.
  • Analytical: Strong financial acumen to audit complex 2P/3P contracts and identify discrepancies between manufacturer agreements and system outputs.
  • Cross-functional Problem Solving: Ability to navigate complex data challenges by working with IT, Finance, and Vendors to resolve contract mapping issues.
  • Unwavering Accountability: Demonstrate a high level of personal responsibility in managing strict contract effective dates, ensuring no "pricing gaps" occur for the customer.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or compensatory work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of pricing experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory/leadership experience
  • Language Ability:

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Math Ability:

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages. Understanding of cost accounting and statistics is preferred.


    Reasoning Ability:

    Strong business acumen and analytical skills

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.


    Computer Skills:

  • Highly proficient in Excel and data analysis. Experience with SQL, Alteryx, Power Query and Power BI is a plus
  • Experience using pricing software, e.g. PROS, Zilliant, PriceFX, Vendavo
  • Experience working with IT professionals on pricing system and tool enhancements

  • Work Environment:

    • This position includes periods of spreadsheet intensive work and may require sitting for long periods of time
    • This position includes frequent phone calls and internal communication with other SPR departments.

    The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 10 pounds. The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
