Job Title: Enrichment & Electives Director, K-12-Long Term Substitute

Supervisor: Chief of Staff

Start Date: July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026

Position Type: Long term sub, through remainder of 25-26 school year

Hours: Specific arrival and departure times will be reviewed by the hiring manager.

Compensation: $75,000 asnnually

Position Overview

Codman Academy seeks a dynamic and passionate Enrichment & Electives Director to oversee and enhance K-12 elective courses, enrichment programs, and extracurricular activities. This individual will play a vital role in expanding student learning opportunities beyond core academics, ensuring a well-rounded, engaging, and culturally responsive educational experience for all students. The Enrichment & Electives Coordinator will work closely with Chief of Staff and community partners to implement high-quality elective offerings and enrichment experiences that foster creativity, exploration, and lifelong learning.

Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Coordination
  • Implement, and oversee a diverse set of K-12 electives, clubs, and enrichment opportunities aligned with student interests and school priorities.

  • Coordinate and schedule elective classes, working with teachers and leadership to balance student needs and staffing availability.

  • Manage daily attendance, student dismissal and pick up and support with concerns and program needs as they arise

Student Engagement & Support
  • Promote student participation in electives, enrichment programs, and extracurricular activities.

  • Maintain existing systems to track student enrollment, engagement, and program impact.

  • Work closely with the Student Success Team (SST) to ensure equitable access to enrichment opportunities for all students, including those with disabilities and English Language Learners (ELLs).

Community Partnerships & Resources
  • Maintain partnerships with local organizations, artists, professionals, and businesses to enhance enrichment offerings.

  • Coordinate special events, performances, field trips, and guest speakers to enrich student experiences.

Collaboration & Professional Development
  • Work with elective teachers, enrichment instructors, and school leaders to ensure high-quality instruction and program alignment with school goals.

  • Facilitate support and training for teachers leading elective courses and extracurricular activities.

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to align enrichment opportunities with school-wide initiatives, college and career readiness, and social-emotional learning (SEL).

Operations & Logistics
  • Oversee the elective enrollment process, ensuring students are placed in programs that match their interests and academic goals.

  • Manage budgets, materials, and scheduling for elective courses and enrichment activities.

  • Ensure all programs comply with school policies, safety guidelines, and scheduling requirements.

Qualifications & ExperienceRequired:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Program Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience in K-12 education, curriculum coordination, or program supervision.

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple programs and initiatives.

  • Ability to collaborate with students, staff, families, and community partners to create enriching learning experiences.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Staff to support student learning and school-wide enrichment initiatives.

Preferred:
  • Experience working in an urban school setting with a diverse student population.

  • Background in arts, STEM, athletics, or other enrichment fields.

  • Experience in data collection and program evaluation to support enrichment opportunities.

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish, Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean Creole, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, or Somali is a plus.
