LAB TECHNICIAN
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Clinical Laboratory Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for performing routine urinalysis testing and operating automated laboratory analyzers to ensure accurate and timely diagnostic results. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high laboratory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and complex urinalysis testing, including physical and chemical evaluation of specimens
Operate and maintain automated laboratory analyzers, ensuring proper calibration, quality control, and troubleshooting when necessary
Prepare, label, and process patient specimens in accordance with laboratory protocols
Record, analyze, and verify test results accurately in the laboratory information system (LIS)
Conduct quality assurance and quality control procedures to maintain regulatory compliance
Identify abnormal findings and promptly report critical results to appropriate personnel
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment following OSHA and safety guidelines
Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of laboratory equipment
Assist in inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support patient care and diagnostic accuracy
Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field (preferred)
Certification (preferred): MLT (ASCP), CLS (ASCP), or equivalent
Previous experience in urinalysis and automated analyzer operation is strongly preferred
Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and regulatory standards (CLIA, CAP, OSHA)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic computer proficiency and experience with laboratory information systems
Preferred Skills
Experience with high-throughput analyzers (e.g., chemistry or urinalysis platforms)
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Good communication and documentation skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
