Job Description
Lead Budtender (Full-Time) – Embr Dispensary
Pay: $19/hour + benefits
Schedule: Full-time (open availability required: days, nights, weekends, holidays)
Embr Dispensary is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Budtender to support daily retail operations and lead a high-performing team. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on customer experience, team development, compliance, and inventory control in a fast-paced cannabis retail environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead daily dispensary operations including opening/closing procedures
- Supervise, coach, and support budtenders and retail leads
- Ensure accurate cash handling, drawer balancing, and sales reporting
- Maintain compliant inventory processes (receiving, stocking, audits)
- Deliver and uphold exceptional customer service standards
- Train staff on products, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Monitor team performance and provide feedback and coaching
- Maintain compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations
- Collaborate with leadership, compliance, and operations teams
- Support store organization, workflow efficiency, and team culture
- Must be 21+ years old
- 1+ year cannabis industry experience required
- Previous retail leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of cannabis products, strains, and regulations
- Experience with POS systems (Blaze preferred) and METRC is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace (Excel skills a plus)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
- A people-first leader with a positive, energetic attitude
- Passion for cannabis and customer education
- Strong accountability and decision-making skills
- Ability to coach, develop, and motivate a team
- Reliable, adaptable, and solutions-oriented mindset
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods
- Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Perform repetitive movements (bending, reaching, etc.)
