The Manager of Process Improvement will be responsible for spearheading lad-wide efforts to develop, implement, and optimize lab processes and performance within our optical manufacturing environment. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in process improvement methodologies and project management.

This is a full-time, on-site position located in our Fort Lauderdale, FL Optical Lab.

We offer competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications, which will be discussed during the interview process.

Education and Experience

A minimum of 10 years of experience in process improvement/KPI responsibility/management AND at least 10 years in a Senior leadership role (General Manager or greater). Preferred background in Lean Six Sigma methodologies (Green or yellow Belt certification preferred). Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently. Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated experience in optical lab/s specifically in lens manufacturing. Must have customer-facing experience (Sales experience preferred with OD/ MD & Optician interaction experience). Must have a healthy network of contacts in the industry with the ability to connect and recruit experienced staff on the lab’s behalf.


Essential Functions

  • Identify areas for improvement and develop innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency
  • Lead multiple process improvement projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and measurable results
  • Re-engineer laboratories to fit production needs maintain the desired level of technology.
  • Be able to run and understand essential reports that will help evaluate breakage and machinery trends.
  • Assist in training and developing lab production goals for people and equipment
  • Analyze existing lab processes using various methods to find opportunities for improvement including but not limited to new workflow processes, remove waste or low-value activities, recommend IT or build equipment solutions for improvements.
  • Developing short- and long-term strategies for the lab to facilitate progress and reduce costs in both labor as well as lab consumables
  • Continued monitoring of changes to lab processes & standardization progress to ensure changes continue to yield desirable results. Establish measurable standards and reports that can be regularly generating detailed updates for upper management
  • Must have and maintain strong customer-facing skills (OD/MD/Optician interactions).
  • Maintain a healthy network of area contacts within the industry.
  • Work directly with Fort Lauderdale leaders to ensure proper training and processes are being followed as expected.
  • Communicate openly with the Director of Process Improvement on any push back, violations, issues, or errors that are regularly encountered.
