This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Director, Global Privacy. In this pivotal role, you will provide enterprise-level leadership for global privacy and data protection initiatives. Your expertise will influence the organization's privacy governance and strategy while managing complex privacy risks across various functions, including clinical development and commercial operations. This position is essential in scaling the privacy function to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, enabling responsible data use and strong compliance practices. As a strategic advisor, you will guide senior leaders through critical privacy issues, enhancing the companys reputation and trust.
Accountabilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of a global privacy and data-protection program.
  • Establish and chair privacy governance forums across the enterprise.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on privacy risks and program effectiveness.
  • Translate legal requirements into practical operating guidance.
  • Oversee privacy considerations throughout the clinical trial lifecycle.
  • Advise on privacy governance for third-party interactions.
  • Lead strategy for cross-border data transfers and compliance.
  • Monitor and operationalize emerging privacy and cybersecurity laws.
  • Oversee risk assessment frameworks related to privacy.
  • Drive privacy training and awareness across the organization.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • 15 years of relevant legal experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or healthcare sectors.
  • 10 years of supervisory experience with strong leadership skills.
  • Deep knowledge of HIPAA, GDPR, and U.S. state privacy laws.
  • Experience negotiating complex data protection agreements.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of data governance and compliance frameworks.
