OverviewWe currently have a client in Kalamazoo, MI looking for a First Assist Surgical Tech/CST (Traveling First Assist)

Focus Staff is seeking a traveling First Assist Surgical Tech to work under the supervision of the surgeon, providing aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure and other intraoperative technical functions. Earn up to $ 45/hour while making a difference in patient care.

Contract Assignment - 13 Weeks (Temporary)

Requirements:

• Must possess independent decision making skills.
• Motivated candidates who are looking for career growth
• AHA Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers
• BSN from accredited nursing program, and proper licensure
• Excellent communication skills with the staff, physicians, patients, and families

Work Experience: At least 2 years of experience

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for ensuring appropriate equipment is available
• Reviewing permit to confirm procedure
• Assist in moving and positioning patient
• Providing assistance throughout the procedure in a variety of surgical techniques.
• Clearing the area where the surgeon will operate and holding open incisions by using tissue retractors, sponges, or operating suction or irrigation equipment
• Closing the incision at the end of the procedure
