RN - Surgical Day Care at Emerson Hospital – Concord, Massachusetts

Job Summary

Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Manager of Surgical Day Care, provides pre-surgical and post-surgical care to patients undergoing surgical procedures and who are to be discharged on the same day. These nurses practice in a collaborative manner with surgeons, anesthesia personnel, nurse peers, and other disciplines, in a decentralized environment. Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide comprehensive care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit, as directed by nursing management. Nursing care is provided in accordance with the stated philosophy and standards established by the Nursing Service Department, regulatory agencies and professional organizations. Is accountable for the safety of nursing care they deliver or supervise.

Minimum Qualifications

Education
Graduate of professional accredited nursing school.
Experience
Two years medical/surgical nursing required.
CCU, ED, or PACU experience preferred.
Licensure and/or Certification
Current license as a RN in Massachusetts required.
BLS healthcare provider required.
ACLS required.
IV Certification required

Skills
Strong clinical and assessment skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
Computer skills required.
Ability to maintain confidential information.
