Position Summary:
The Clinical Trials Unit (CTU), within the Department ofInternal Medicine, is seeking to hire a motivated professional to serve as aResearch Coordinator to support and coordinate enrollment for clinical researchstudies.

This individual will be responsible for working with a diverse team of clinicalinvestigators and research staff to coordinate research studies. Primary dutiesinclude research study subject enrollment including data and research specimencollection. Coordinates, plans and executes study promotional activities tokeep clinical staff informed about active research studies. Additionalresponsibilities include site investigative file maintenance, reporting ofprotocol of safety information to the institutional review board (IRB) asneeded and regular communication with the research team and clinical trialsponsors and their representatives.

This position requires applicants to work in a hospital clinic environment, UNMHospital partners and affiliated clinics. Applicants must be able to collectand prepare data and research specimens in accordance with protocols, maintainregulatory binders, and supervise the process of data entry and qualityassurance. This position may require scheduling evening and weekend work hoursin order to meet enrollment demands.

  • Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check. Additional health screenings may be required, dependent on the nature of the research conducted, as determined by Employee Occupational Health Services.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
