Asphalt Plant Operator at Willets Point Asphalt – Queens, New York

You will serve as a vital technical expert within a 100-year-old family-owned leader in industrial manufacturing. This role gives you the autonomy to manage high-capacity production cycles while benefiting from the stability of year-round, steady work and the best benefits in the business.

• Operate complex asphalt plant machinery to ensure consistent production of high-quality Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).

• Monitor plant controls and technical systems to maintain strict adherence to project specifications and quality standards.

• Execute daily equipment inspections and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure operational safety.

• Coordinate with field operations and logistics teams to meet high-volume supply demands for prevailing wage projects.

• Implement HMA QC protocols to verify that all materials meet rigorous industrial and government standards.

• Manage material inventory and site logistics to maintain an efficient, organized, and productive manufacturing environment.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in asphalt plant operations or a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.

• Valid Crane License and Hot Mix Asphalt Quality Control (HMA QC) certification.

• Proven ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and significant overtime as required by production needs.

• Strong technical proficiency in operating and troubleshooting heavy industrial machinery.

• Experience working within a union environment or on government/federal industrial projects.

• Demonstrated commitment to long-term career development through technical training and mentorship.

• Advanced knowledge of material science related to asphalt grades and chemical compositions.
