Position Title: Rehab Office Coordinator- West Loop
Full Time
Day Shift – 7AM-5:30 PM
Compensation: $42–$65K

Position Summary

Provide financial and administrative support for the rehabilitation clinics and professional staff while exercising judgement and independently arranging daily work schedules to promote an efficient clerical operation.

Responsibilities

  • Process incoming data (deliveries, calls, mail, e-mail, faxes), providing assistance and information for inquiries. Maintain awareness of corporate-wide activities to assist customers.
  • Schedule appointments and meetings, screen referrals, coordinate appointments with other agencies or departments, facilitate patient arrival/attendance, greet patients and facilitate their comfort during waiting time, notify therapists of patient arrival.
  • Register accounts, independently verify billing information and pre-authorization status, collect payments, manage billing complaints/discrepancies. Work directly with financial departments to facilitate a timely and effective billing collection process. Enter charges and credits into the billing system.
  • Ensure claims are transmitted electronically each day to the appropriate payer. Ensure claims that cannot be billed electronically, are printed and mailed as needed. 10%
  • Initiate, compose, prepare and finalize correspondence, technical and confidential reports and forms for therapists, managers and physicians. Maintain knowledge and accurate use of current e-mail, database and word processing software.
  • Enter comprehensive registration data set into the hospital system by interviewing patients in person or by telephone to secure demographic, clinical and financial information. Evaluate demographic and financial data. Find specific CPT and ICD-9 codes for correct billing and diagnosis.
  • Collect and process data for continuous improvement projects. Participate in quality improvement activities and other departmental program development.

Work Experience:

1–3 years of experience

Position Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of computer operations, including pruriency with windows and database systems
  • Ability to type a minimum of 35 WPM
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills required
