About the Role:
The Infusion Lead Nurse plays a critical role in overseeing and managing the infusion therapy services within a healthcare setting, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered care. This position involves leading a team of infusion nurses, coordinating treatment plans, and maintaining compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory standards. The Infusion Lead Nurse acts as a clinical expert and resource, providing guidance and support to nursing staff while fostering a collaborative and educational environment. Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 3 year in infusion therapy or a related specialty.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong knowledge of infusion therapy protocols, medication administration, and patient safety standards.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with specialty medications or biologics.
- Experience in quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance within infusion services.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the future infusion nursing team, providing mentorship, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high standards of care.
- Coordinate and administer infusion therapies, including immunotherapy, and other intravenous treatments, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Monitor patient responses to infusion treatments, promptly identifying and managing adverse reactions or complications.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and update individualized patient care plans.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, infection control standards, and documentation practices related to infusion services.
- Implement and participate in quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing infusion therapy outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans, medication administration, and patient education.
- Serve as a resource for clinical questions and provide ongoing education to nursing staff regarding infusion techniques and best practices.
