POSITION OVERVIEW

Blackrock Strategy is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to support the integration, assessment, and operational alignment of emerging technologies within high-visibility defense and government environments.
This role operates at the intersection of engineering, program oversight, and mission execution, supporting government stakeholders in evaluating system performance, identifying risks, and ensuring technologies integrate effectively across complex system-of-systems environments.
The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in multi-organization environments, translating technical insights into actionable guidance for leadership, and supporting integration efforts that directly impact mission outcomes.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Systems are integrated effectively across multi-organization, system-of-systems environments
- Technical risks, gaps, and integration challenges are identified early and communicated clearly
- Leadership receives actionable, decision-quality insights on system performance and tradeoffs
- Integration efforts align with mission priorities and program objectives
- Stakeholders across government, engineering, and program teams operate with shared technical understanding
- Emerging technologies are evaluated for scalability, integration feasibility, and mission impact
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support system integration and assessment efforts across complex mission environments
- Analyze system performance and translate findings into clear, actionable insights for leadership
- Identify risks, integration challenges, and system dependencies across programs
- Coordinate with government stakeholders, engineering teams, and program leadership
- Contribute to technical documentation, including briefings, reports, and system assessments
- Support evaluation of emerging technologies and their integration into mission environments
- Assist in aligning technical efforts across multiple organizations and stakeholders
- Maintain awareness of system architecture, interfaces, and integration constraints
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
- Experience in systems engineering, integration, or technical program support (SETA environments preferred)
- Experience supporting defense, aerospace, or government programs
- Strong communication skills, including ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working across multiple organizations or stakeholders
- Active DoD Secret clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience supporting government program offices, SETA roles, or advisory environments
- Familiarity with system-of-systems integration and mission-level architecture considerations
- Experience preparing or delivering executive-level briefings or technical summaries
- Exposure to emerging technologies, prototyping, or modernization initiatives
- Experience supporting cross-organizational coordination and integration efforts
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Based in the National Capital Region (Washington, DC area)
- Operates in government-facing, high-visibility environments
- Requires coordination across government stakeholders, engineering teams, and program leadership
- Travel up to 25% may be required
- On-site presence required based on mission needs; limited remote support may be considered
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts in English, both verbally and in writing, to technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to prepare executive-level briefings, technical summaries, and reports.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to evaluate complex systems, analyze technical tradeoffs, and synthesize input from multiple organizations into cohesive, actionable direction.
Capable of identifying risks and integration challenges while applying sound engineering judgment.
