About This Position
Conducts assessments and provides therapy to children and families. This role is integral to the development and implementation of holistic, culturally informed services designed to meet the unique needs of the Snoqualmie Tribal community. The incumbent will be expected to operate with a high degree of independence, engage in interdepartmental collaboration, and contribute to long-term strategic goals. Successful candidates must demonstrate a deep respect for and understanding of Indigenous knowledge systems, traditions, and community structures.
Essential Duties:
- Provide psychological and developmental assessments using structured interviews, observations, and validated testing tools.
- Develop and implement culturally appropriate, individualized treatment plans for children, youth, and their families.
- Provide evidence-based, trauma-informed therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, and Family Therapy.
- Coordinate care with pediatricians, medical staff, educators, and community providers to support a whole-child approach.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and pediatricians to coordinate comprehensive care for the child.
- Conduct developmental evaluations, school-readiness assessments, and behavioral assessments for children of all ages.
- Collaborate with families to strengthen parenting strategies and reinforce therapeutic goals at home.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and school-based collaboration.
- Implement individualized treatment plans which may include individual, group or family therapy utilizing trauma informed therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and/or Play Therapy
- Perform developmental evaluations for young children and school-aged youth.
- Deliver trauma-informed therapeutic interventions for pediatric clients.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with HIPAA and internal quality assurance standards.
- Engage in outreach, prevention education, and community events to promote mental health awareness.
- Contribute to strategic planning for child and adolescent behavioral health services within the Tribe.
- Attend regular training and continuing education in culturally adapted therapeutic interventions and pediatric psychology best practices.
Additional Duties:
- Support the department in the development of culturally relevant behavioral health materials and curricula.
- Participate in grant implementation, data collection, and outcomes reporting as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Mental Health Supervisor or Health & Wellness Director.

- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care models in pediatric populations.
- Ability to work with a range of developmental and psychological issues, including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, mood disorders, and attachment disorders.
- Experience working with Native American communities or Tribal organizations strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to build trust with children, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in EHR systems, Microsoft Office, and telehealth platforms.
- Commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and cultural humility.
- Complete intake assessments and document eligibility.
- Coordinate with clinical and referral staff
- Excellent customer service skills and written and verbal communication. Demonstrated ability to communicate with diverse populations in a courteous, helpful, and clearly understood manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use tact and discretion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Knowledge of federal and state program funding and reporting guidelines.
- Knowledge of Native cultures, history, traditions, and healing ceremonies strongly preferred.
Education & Experience:
Education Required:
- PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology, Pediatric Psychology, or Child/Adolescent Psychology from an accredited program.
Experience:
- Minimum three years post-doctoral experience providing psychological services to pediatric populations.
- Extensive experience in trauma-informed care, developmental psychology, and culturally responsive therapy.
- Clinical experience working with children in Tribal, rural, or underserved populations is strongly preferred.
- Experience with grant-supported services, integrated care models, and family systems interventions is beneficial.
- Experience in early childhood mental health consultation or school-based psychological services is a plus.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Active, unrestricted Psychologist License in the State of Washington.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a thorough pre-employment background investigation.
- Must agree to be subject to the Tribe's Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing Policy to include pre-employment screening.
- Upon hire, successfully complete and maintain defensive driving, fire suppression, passenger assistance, HIPPA, Cultural sensitivity, and child safety seat securement trainings.
Work Environment:
The work environment includes an office environment in a controlled atmosphere building. This position also includes frequent driving of a motor vehicle and transportation of clients to and from their homes and their appointments.

The Snoqualmie Indian Tribe follows the Tribal Hiring Preference as outlined in tribal policies, including the Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO). TERO sets forth certain hiring preferences for qualified individuals who are enrolled in a federally recognized Indian tribe, as well as, in some cases, preference for certain family members of those individuals.
Additional Information:
- Compensation will be determined based on experience and starts at $117,845.88 per year.
- This position is a full-time position and employment is at will.
