Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of PMO, the Project Management Portfolio Manager oversees a portfolio of strategic and operational projects, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and successful execution. The Portfolio Manager optimizes delivery, maintains visibility into timelines, risks, and resource allocation, and acts as a bridge between leadership and execution teams to ensure initiatives are completed efficiently, on time, and within scope, with a focus on continuous improvement, scalability, and operational excellence

We are seeking a Project Management Portfolio Manager to oversee portfolio governance, including project intake and prioritization, while driving cross-functional coordination and enterprise change management to support adoption of initiatives. This position plays a critical role in project management, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, operational excellence, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manages the project portfolio, ensuring all initiatives align with business priorities, timelines, and strategic objectives, and supports leadership in refining portfolio strategy
  • Leads portfolio-level change management, driving adoption of new processes and systems while assessing impacts and preparing stakeholders
  • Oversees the project intake process, evaluating and prioritizing new initiatives and enforcing governance standards and decision-making frameworks
  • Maintains centralized, accurate portfolio data, ensuring quality and consistency across systems and enabling data-driven decisions through reporting and analytics
  • Monitors portfolio health, tracking timelines, budgets, and outcomes, and delivering clear dashboards and reports to executives and stakeholders
  • Identifies and manages portfolio-level risks and dependencies, ensuring effective mitigation strategies
  • Supports resource planning and prioritization across projects to optimize capacity and efficiency

Qualifications

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, healthcare, or related field OR equivalent experience (Required)
  • MBA or advanced degree (preferred)
  • Licensure/Certification: PMP (Project Management Professional), Agile Certification, or similar (Preferred)
  • Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in project, program, or portfolio management (Required)
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects or a portfolio of initiatives in a PMO or similar environment (Required)
  • Experience implementing and operating within PMO governance frameworks, including project intake and prioritization (Required)
  • Demonstrated experience leading change management initiatives and driving organizational adoption (Required)
  • Experience working cross-functionally and partnering with stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization (Required)
  • Experience tracking project performance, risks, and dependencies, and reporting to leadership (Required)
  • Experience with resource planning and managing competing priorities across initiatives (Required)
  • Healthcare, pharmacy, or logistics experience (Preferred)
  • Experience in high-growth or startup environments (Preferred)
  • Experience implementing automation or process optimization initiatives (Preferred)
  • Experience with systems like Zendesk, BestRx, or similar platforms (Preferred)
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of portfolio and project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid); PMO governance frameworks and best practices; change management principles and methodologies (e.g., ADKAR, Prosci); risk management and mitigation strategies; resource planning and capacity management; data analysis, reporting tools, and dashboarding (e.g., Excel, BI tools (Required)
  • Knowledge of pharmacy operations, logistics, or healthcare compliance; automation and AI-driven workflow optimization; financial management, budgeting, and ROI analysis (Preferred)
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills (Required)
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills (Required)
  • Strategic thinking and prioritization skills (Required)
  • Change management and stakeholder adoption skills (Required)

Work Environment

  • Location: Hybrid
  • Schedule: 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday with night and weekend hours on occasion as determined by the needs of the business and cross-facility travel as needed
  • Regular meetings with internal Pharmacy Operations, Engineering, Operational Excellence, Compliance, and Quality, teams. This role may also have meetings with external vendor and automation partner representatives.

Key Essential Functions

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while writing or reviewing documentation
  • Must be able to work on a computer for the entire shift
  • Must be able to attend virtual meetings with cross-functional teams.
