This role presents an exciting opportunity to lead and grow individual giving initiatives in a mission-driven, nationally focused environment. You will develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies aimed at increasing donor engagement, retention, and revenue from high-capacity individuals. Acting as a trusted partner to cross-functional teams, you will cultivate and steward meaningful relationships while guiding strategies for major, planned, and recurring gifts. This position blends hands-on fundraising with strategic leadership, requiring analytical rigor, creative donor engagement, and collaboration across development, marketing, and program teams. With a focus on measurable impact, you will help expand individual giving programs while strengthening long-term donor loyalty. Frequent travel will enable you to connect with supporters and stakeholders directly, further enhancing relationships and organizational growth.
- Develop and implement a nationwide strategy for individual and major giving to drive measurable revenue growth and donor retention
- Manage a personal portfolio of high-capacity donors while identifying, qualifying, and cultivating new prospects
- Collaborate with development, marketing, and program teams to design and execute annual giving, direct mail, and special campaigns
- Provide guidance and coaching to fundraising staff on best practices for donor cultivation, stewardship, and planned giving
- Track progress toward revenue goals, analyze donor data, and adjust strategies to optimize fundraising outcomes
- Oversee planned giving initiatives and blended gift strategies in alignment with organizational objectives
- Represent the organization at donor meetings, events, and other engagement opportunities to strengthen relationships and expand support
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years of progressive nonprofit fundraising experience, including managing high-capacity donor portfolios
- Proven track record of securing five- to seven-figure gifts and achieving year-over-year revenue growth
- Expertise in donor cultivation, moves management, stewardship, and planned giving strategies
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in fundraising platforms, CRM systems, and data analysis tools (e.g., Salesforce, Double the Donation, Wealth Engine)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling donor communications and materials
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders
- Willingness to travel frequently (minimum 30%) and work in a flexible, mission-focused environment
