Position: Housekeeper (Summer - Seasonal)
About the Role:
The Housekeeper plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness, orderliness, and a welcoming environment within residential or commercial properties. This position ensures that all assigned areas are cleaned thoroughly and efficiently, adhering to established standards and protocols. The Housekeeper contributes to the overall comfort and satisfaction of occupants or guests by providing a hygienic and pleasant atmosphere. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential to successfully fulfilling this role. Ultimately, the Housekeeper supports the smooth operation of the facility by consistently delivering high-quality cleaning services.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to speak and understand English to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Demonstrated manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks, including reaching overhead and floor care.
- Basic mathematical skills to measure cleaning solutions and manage inventory as needed.
- Prior experience in a housekeeping or cleaning role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in hospitality or healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with environmentally friendly cleaning products and practices.
- Ability to read and write English proficiently for accurate record-keeping.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact courteously with residents, guests, or team members.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and polishing floors and surfaces.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, kitchens, and other common areas to maintain hygiene standards.
- Follow detailed instructions for the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectively.
- Manage time efficiently to complete assigned cleaning duties within scheduled timeframes, especially in fast-paced environments.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards observed during cleaning to the appropriate personnel.
Skills:
The required skills such as speaking and understanding English enable clear communication and comprehension of instructions, which is critical for safety and efficiency. Manual dexterity is essential for handling cleaning tools and performing tasks that require precision, such as floor care and reaching overhead. The ability to follow both oral and written instructions ensures that cleaning protocols and safety guidelines are adhered to consistently. Working in a fast-paced environment demands time management and adaptability to complete tasks promptly without compromising quality. 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday or just turnover days and occasional weekends
40 hours/week
