Cedar Community Nursing Assistant Program

This paid, four-week training program equips you with the skills and knowledge needed to provide essential care and support to residents. Upon completion and certification, you will transition into a nursing assistant role at Cedar Community and have the opportunity to receive a job offer as part of our nursing team.
Program Details
- Paid four-week training program
- 80 hours of paid training time
- Start at $14.75/hour during training
- Transition to $20/hour once certified
- Job offer opportunity upon successful completion
- Flexible online learning + in-person training + clinical experience
Training Structure
- 45 hours of online learning (complete anywhere)
- 19 hours in-person skills lab
- 16 hours hands-on clinical practice in our skilled nursing facility
Shift Differentials After Certification
- AM (Sat–Sun): +$3/hour
- PM (Mon–Fri): +$5/hour | (Sat–Sun): +$7/hour
- NOC (Mon–Fri): +$4/hour | (Sat–Sun): +$6/hour
What You’ll Learn
- Essential caregiving skills such as taking vital signs and assisting with bathing, dressing, and more
- Communication skills to engage with residents, families, and coworkers
- How to protect resident rights and provide quality, respectful care
Important Note About Employment Status
After successfully completing the Nursing Assistant training course, your employment status is subject to state regulations. At that stage, you may either adopt a full-time status or not be in active employment. Once you obtain your certification, you will have the freedom to work the hours and status you were initially hired for.

- Required In-Person Dates
- Fridays: April 24th, May 1st, May 8th, 2026
- Times: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Clinicals: Mon, May 11th & Tue, May 12th, 2026
- Times: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- State Skills Test: Friday, May 15th, 2026
