Position Purpose:
The Sr. Operations Analyst serves as a strategic and analytical partner in advancing operational performance across the system. This role supports operations in building key reporting and analytical mechanisms to help drive performance improvement. This role will monitor operational metrics, identify trends, and develop actionable insights that drive improvement initiatives aligned with Sinai Chicago.

Key Job Activities:
Data Analysis & Insight Development
- Translates complex data into accessible dashboards and reports for leaders and frontline teams.
- Analyzes operational, financial and workforce data to identify patterns and opportunities.
- Partners with Finance, Operations, and HR teams to integrate metrics into performance improvement plans.
- Analyzes existing business procedures, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve operational issues and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Maintains system dashboards and scorecards reflecting operational, financial, and workforce trends.
- Tracks and reports key performance indicators related to labor cost, KPIs, retention and satisfaction.
- Presents findings and progress to senior leadership and department teams.
Collaboration & Partnership
- Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including HR, Nursing, Finance, and Operations.
- Participates in operational, finance and HR department meetings and committees.
- Serves as a liaison to HR, Operations, Finance and Workforce Analytics to ensure a unified approach.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required in a quantitative social science or related field, including coursework in research design and data analysis/modeling.
- Master’s degree preferred in a quantitative social science or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in healthcare, health system operations, consulting, or a comparable analytics environment.
- Proficient knowledge of SQL, Python, and Power BI is required; demonstrated ability to build queries, data models, and dashboards for operational reporting and performance improvement.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, including creating executive-ready analyses, visualizations, and presentations.
- Experience with statistical analysis software and applied methods (e.g., regression, forecasting, hypothesis testing) to support decision-making.
- Experience working with large enterprise EMR/EHR systems and workflows is required; Epic experience is preferred (desired, not required).
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative data and translate findings into clear recommendations.
- Experience with survey platforms (e.g., Press Ganey, NRC, Qualtrics) and patient/employee experience metrics is preferred.
- Proven record of leading projects, facilitating cross-functional teams, and driving measurable improvement.
