Staff Accountant at Sullivan Tire Co Inc – Norwell, Massachusetts

*The role is in person at our Norwell, MA office*

Sullivan Tire, an employee-owned company, is currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in Norwell, MA. The Staff Accountant will prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports in conformance to reporting and procedural standards. This role works closely with management to increase profitability through improved efficiency and productivity. Adheres to internal controls, policies and procedures.

Major Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily accounting processes related to- accounts payable, inventory, billing, fixed assets, cash and credit card reconciliation, cost accounting, audits, and other analysis.
• Review monthly location financial statements and research anomalies and variance to budget.
• Reconcile balance sheet and P&L accounts as part of the monthly close process.
• Prepare and enter standard and adjusting journal entries.
• Assist operational managers on financial questions, expense research, etc.
• Assist with annual audit performed by outside CPA firm.
• Assist in preparing the corporate operating budget.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

Education/Experience:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar field
• 3-5 years experience

Skills/Knowledge:

• Solid understanding of accounting principles
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Experience and knowledge of various Accounting Software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Solid Problem-solving and analytical skills
• Detailed-oriented
• Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team
