About This Position

Vernay has been in business for over 75 years. It is an innovative, global manufacturer of components used to control the flow of liquids in thousands of applications from medical devices to consumer products. You likely use a Vernay product every day.

We are looking for a Mill & Extrusion Tech to work 2nd shift from 3pm to 11pm Monday through Friday. Starting rate is $16.50 plus shift premium. Will train on days from 7am to 3pm for approximately 2 to 4 weeks, before transiting to 2nd shift.

Job Scope: Responsible for the mixing and preforming of rubber compounds to customer specifications, along with all peripheral aspects of the process of mixing rubber. Maintain Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and 5S on a daily basis.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Perform the tasks associated with receiving and staging raw materials.
Perform the tasks of weighting small components using the Remstar system.
Perform the tasks associated with operating the Warner Pfleiderer Mixer.
Operate the 60" Stewart Mill, Stock Blender and Krupp Batch-Off.
Perform tasks related to the Mill Lab. This includes Tens-Tech, Shore Hardness tester, Tech-Pro MDR and Densi-Tech.
Perform tasks associated with preforming of material, such as Extrusion, Cutting Pellets and Padding of material.
Work in a safe manner while observing all safety procedures.
Must be able to navigate and enter data into a computer
Read, Comprehend and demonstrate ability to follow documented procedures and/or other instructions
Meet or exceed daily production goals and Quality requirements.
Understand and meet yearly KPIs targets.
Willingness to embrace new technology
Maintain positive personal behavior, attendance and open to change.
Follow GDP(good documentation practices) to ensure compliance to applicable standards
Must be able to work any shift as needed
Maintain daily 5S and housekeeping requirements and schedules

Education, Experience, and Skills Required: Must have a min high school diploma or GED. Must have 1 year of manufacturing experience. Must have basic computer knowledge or data entry knowledge and operator a variety of tools Maintain integrity of lean manufacturing program, including but not limited to pull systems, point of use storage, FIFO, and quick change-over systems Maintain integrity of all IATF16949, ISO13485, ISO9001, and ISO14001 quality standards
