SUMMARY
Performs routine general service tasks in kitchen, cafeteria, dining room, dish room, patient/resident, coffee shop and/or vending areas
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains friendly and efficient attitude towards customers, co-workers and clients.
Sets up assigned station in work area.
May perform the following tasks as required:
- Brews coffee
- Fills beverage machines
- Sets up hot and/or cold food areas, salad bar area, and fills vending machines.
- Sets up, operates, clean and dismantles dish machine.
- Stocks and dismantles condiment areas and replenishes paper and china supplies.
- Assists with the proper storage, dating and rotating of stock
Maintains merchandising in service areas.
Prepares portions, assembles and labels food items.
Works on serving line. Works in dish room, scrapping trays, loading and unloading dish machine and sorting silverware, if required.
Cleans tables, counters and various types of kitchen equipment and sweeps and mops floors.
Assists with catered events, if required.
Removes trash from department and transports to disposal area.
Adheres to all Metz policies.
Conducts work within HACCP guidelines as appropriate and adheres to all departmental sanitation procedures.

Adheres to all established systems and training programs to provide a safe environment.
Complies with all OSHA regulations and other local, state and federal regulations.
Recognizes and adopts activities appropriate to the specific guests needs
Maintains compliance with Metz’s standards of operation, client and Metz’s Employee

Prior food service experience is desired. Ability to communicate in English (verbal and written) effectively. Depending on the location, here are examples of the types of Foodservice Worker positions available:
Culinary Team Members: Our Team Members start their Culinary Career learning the front and back of the Dining Services Industry. In a hospitality driven, multi dining outlet setting, you will perform duties to include plating, set up and tear down of café, restaurant, retail areas, or assist in kitchen to include prep, dish room, dry stock and perishable food inventories and sanitation. Must bring a strong work ethic, a SMILE and enjoy working in a TEAM environment
Line and Prep Cooks: Prepare and present DELICIOUS meals and IMPRESSIVE presentations following our Executive Chef Menus. Ability to inventory and portion ingredients. Additionally, assist in kitchen to include prep, dish room, dry stock and perishable food inventories and sanitation. Experience as a cook or culinary schooling would be ideal but we willing to train the right person with a passion for food.
Dietary Aids (Patient Food Service): Our Team of Dietary Aids ensure our patients and residents receive AMAZING in-room meals with unexpected service and smiles! Under the guidance of our Clinical Dietitian staff, our Dietary Aids ensure compliance with patient dietary instructions. Our servers assist with meal selection, tray set up, delivery and removal of food trays with strong focus on HOSPITALITY and demonstrating compassion and amazing service to our guest Patients and Residents.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience desired but OPEN to train candidates with a passion for food and understands the basics
- Ability to apply elementary mathematical statistics that would apply to inventory and portioning
