About This Position
Job Summary:
Security Solutions Expert (Outside Sales) is responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and representing Edge CCTV’s full range of video surveillance and security solutions. This role focuses on cultivating leads, conducting on-site evaluations, and developing tailored proposals that address client needs. Key Responsibilities:
Prospecting & Lead Generation
- Identify and pursue potential clients through outbound calls, networking events, industry contacts, and referrals.
- Research target markets to understand their operations and security needs.
- Maintain consistent outreach to build a strong and sustainable sales pipeline.
- Document and track all prospecting activity in the company’s CRM (Zoho CRM).
Customer Engagement & Relationship Building
- Conduct professional, high-impact product presentations and demonstrations both virtually and on-site.
- Build strong relationships with business-to-business clients, focusing on long-term trust and satisfaction.
- Listen to and analyze client needs to develop customized surveillance and access control solutions.
- Communicate regularly with clients throughout the sales and installation process to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Sales Process & Proposal Development
- Conduct on-site surveys at client locations to evaluate needs and determine appropriate system recommendations.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive proposals, including site maps, equipment specifications, and accurate cost estimates.
- Present proposals clearly and confidently, addressing all client questions and objections.
- Follow up on open proposals and maintain detailed records of all interactions and next steps.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure proper handoff and project setup following sale approval.
Documentation & CRM Management
- Enter and update all relevant customer information, communications, and proposal details into the CRM system.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, pipeline status, and project progress.
- Provide regular sales activity reports and pipeline updates to the Sales Manager.
Travel & Site Visits
- Travel to customer locations (company-paid travel) to conduct site evaluations, consultations, and presentations.
- Represent Edge CCTV professionally and positively in all client-facing settings.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in B2B, technology, or security industries.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales goals.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and active listening abilities.
- Self-motivated with strong time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with G-Suite and CRM systems (Zoho preferred).
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed for client meetings and site evaluations.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience selling security, surveillance, or access control systems.
- Familiarity with networking and low-voltage installation concepts.
- Comfort presenting technical products to both business owners and corporate decision-makers.
Work Environment:
- Combination of office-based work, remote communication, and travel to client sites.
- Frequent in-person interaction with customers and internal project teams.
- Requires sitting, standing, and walking throughout client facilities.
