Teach Latin Music Ensemble ( MUS125), a new ensemble option for music majors and non-major instrumentalists and vocalists performing in popular and traditional styles of Latin America
This course focuses on rehearsing and performing a wide variety of music from Latin America. Students develop their skills in rhythm, improvisation, and performance techniques foundational to various styles of Latin music. This course is designed for students with previous experience in music, and an audition is required. To audition, enroll in the course and contact the instructor or Performing Arts Department chairperson. This course may be repeated for credit to meet humanities elective requirements or the music concentration ensemble requirement.
- Course information: Charlestown campus on Tuesdays from 10 AM to 12:45 PM.
Job Requirements:
- Master's degree in music.
- Availability to teach at the Charlestown campus on Tuesdays from 10 AM to 12:45 PM.
- Professional-level experience performing a wide variety of musical styles from Latin America, including traditional styles, Latin pop, and Latin jazz.
- Experience leading student instrumental and vocal ensembles.
- Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading college ensembles
- Classroom and/or applied music teaching experience
Additional Information:
Salary: $1,512.00 per credit and $1,119.00 for the lab.
