About This Position
Position Summary
Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. Maintain safe, organized and clean work environment. Responsible for set up, inspection, first part buy, and other duties as assigned using a variety of 3-axis, 4-axis and 5-axis, multi-spindle and single-spindle CNC machines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate equipment such as CNC machines, milling machines, and end mills to produce manufactured parts primarily out of inconel and titanium.
- Take measurements to adequately ensure the accurate set-up, with the use of tools such as; gauges, calipers, indicators and micrometers.
- Maintains specifications by observing drilling and cutting; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting controls; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Set up and trouble shoot machines for large complex parts.
- Able to manufacture fixturing.
- Approves part specifications utilizing hard layout methodologies.
- Expertise in CNC or Profile
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Apprenticeship graduate or technical degree helpful.
- Aerospace experience preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible milling experience, aerospace industry is a plus
- Experience/knowledge applicable to fixturing/tooling applications
- Experience with hard metals such as Inconel and titanium is a plus
- Working familiarity with shop planning/tooling

- Strong attention to detail.

- Ability to read and write the English language.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write appropriate correspondences.
- Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and small group situation to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
