This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role within a fast-growing SaaS environment, offering the opportunity to shape and scale core accounting operations. As Controller, you will oversee financial integrity, lead critical processes, and ensure compliance with accounting standards while supporting business growth. Working closely with executive leadership, you will influence financial strategy, optimize systems, and drive operational excellence. The role blends technical expertise with team leadership, requiring both attention to detail and a forward-thinking mindset. You will manage complex financial activities in a dynamic, high-performance setting while mentoring a talented accounting team. - Lead all core accounting operations, including general ledger management, reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries in compliance with US GAAP
- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate cash flow management and strong stakeholder relationships
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles, establishing timelines and ensuring high-quality deliverables
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Manage revenue recognition processes in line with ASC 606, including contract reviews and billing structures
- Lead accounting integration for acquisitions, including system migrations and alignment of policies and controls
- Serve as the primary liaison for external audits and tax advisors, ensuring timely and accurate filings
- Oversee treasury operations, banking activities, and insurance processes
- Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and scalable financial procedures
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Partner with finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support business decisions and enhance financial transparency
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities, including ERP optimization
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification required
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Proven experience in SaaS environments; exposure to private equity-backed organizations is strongly preferred
- Strong expertise in US GAAP and revenue recognition standards, particularly ASC 606
- Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and strong Excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex accounting operations and meet tight deadlines in fast-paced environments
- Experience implementing process improvements, automation, and leveraging modern technologies
- Strong leadership and coaching abilities with a hands-on management style
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to balance strategic oversight with operational execution
