About This Position

Description:

Agile Space Industries is a rapidly growing supplier of propulsion hardware and engineering services for the space industry. Headquartered in Durango, Colorado, with expanding operations in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, and Tulsa, Oklahoma, Agile has achieved more than 40% year-over-year growth for the past three years, and our momentum continues to accelerate.

At Agile, we design, build, and test in-space propulsion systems that give spacecraft the ability to maneuver with precision, reliability, and purpose. Our technologies play a critical role in missions that range from lunar landings and resource utilization to national defense, human exploration, and commercial space transport.

We are seeking bold and driven individuals who thrive in a hands-on, fast-moving environment and want to help write the next chapter of space history as part of a close-knit, innovative team.

Have you ever dreamed of being part of space exploration but didn’t think there was a place for you? The reality is, the future of space isn’t built by engineers alone. It takes teams across operations, facilities, administration, and beyond to make it all possible. We are seeking a skilled and versatile Facilities Maintenance Electrician to join our team at our expanding aerospace facility in Durango, Colorado.

In this hands-on role, you will serve as the primary electrical expert responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems critical to our manufacturing, testing, and office operations. You will also contribute to general facilities maintenance, perform limited general labor tasks, and assist with custodial duties as needed to support a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment during our rapid growth phase. This position is ideal for a journeyman-level electrician who thrives in a dynamic, multi-trade setting and is comfortable wearing multiple hats.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade electrical systems, including wiring, conduits, panels, circuit breakers, lighting, power distribution (up to 480Vwhere applicable), motors, controls, and specialized equipment for aerospace production and testing areas.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections on electrical systems, identify potential hazards or failures, and ensure compliance with NEC codes, OSHA regulations, and company safety standards.
  • Respond to electrical emergencies and service calls to minimize downtime in critical operations.
  • Support general facilities maintenance and preventative maintenance schedules, including basic plumbing, HVAC assistance, door/hardware repairs, painting, and grounds upkeep as assigned.
  • Assist with general labor tasks such as material handling, equipment setup/moving, minor carpentry, snow removal (seasonal in Durango), and facility setup for events or expansions.
  • Perform custodial duties as needed when shorthanded, including cleaning work areas, restrooms, break rooms, and common spaces to maintain a professional and safe environment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for electrical and facility projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and maintenance logs.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and other teams to support facility expansions and equipment installations.
  • Participate in safety audits, lockout/tagout procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program preferred.
  • Valid journeyman electrician license (Colorado preferred) or ability to obtain reciprocity; master electrician a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and repair, ideally in industrial, manufacturing, or commercial settings.
  • Experience with industrial electrical systems, controls, or equipment preferred; aerospace or high-tech facility experience is a bonus.
  • Basic knowledge of other trades (plumbing, HVAC, carpentry) and willingness to perform multi-skilled maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, use testing equipment (multimeters, etc.), and work safely at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand/walk for extended periods
