This role is a strategic leadership position focused on shaping and executing the digital customer experience across a defined area of a SaaS platform. The Director, Customer Digital Experience will combine hands-on design work with team leadership to improve usability, consistency, and overall experience quality. This position partners closely with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders to translate customer insights into impactful digital solutions. It requires setting vision, driving cross-functional alignment, and establishing frameworks and standards that scale across the organization. The ideal candidate excels in both strategy and execution, with a proven ability to mentor teams while contributing directly to complex projects. - Set vision and direction for customer digital experiences within a specific area of the platform
- Lead cross-functional initiatives spanning UX research, UI/UX design, workflow design, and product development
- Build, maintain, and evolve design frameworks, style guides, reusable patterns, and standards to improve consistency and scalability
- Translate customer insights and product data into actionable design improvements and enhanced workflows
- Act as a player-coach by directly contributing to priority projects while mentoring and developing team members
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders to balance user needs, business priorities, and technical constraints
- Define and monitor experience quality metrics and integrate them into roadmap and delivery decisions
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in product management, UX, product design, digital experience, or related roles
- Strong experience with SaaS and customer-facing digital products
- Proven people leadership experience, including coaching and developing high-performing teams
- Experience in a player-coach role combining leadership with direct execution
- Demonstrated success building or improving UX frameworks, design systems, style guides, or similar standards
- Deep understanding of user research, UX/UI principles, workflow design, and digital product best practices
- Strong cross-functional collaboration, communication, and organizational influence skills
- Bonus: experience leading UX maturity initiatives, working in multi-product/platform environments, or familiarity with usability, adoption, engagement, and CX metrics
