We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Analyst II to join our Inorganics team at our environmental testing laboratory in Reading, PA.
In this role, you’ll perform analytical testing and sample processing that deliver the accurate, defensible data our clients depend on for environmental compliance and decision-making. You’ll operate advanced instrumentation, interpret results, and ensure quality standards are met while expanding your technical expertise across diverse analytical methods.
**Please note - This position follows a Monday - Friday schedule of 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with rotating weekend and holiday coverage required.**
What You’ll Do
- Perform sample preparation, analysis, and quality control testing in accordance with SOPs, approved methods, and regulatory standards
- Accurately document work and enter results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Review and interpret analytical data for accuracy and consistency; identify and escalate discrepancies as needed
- Perform required calculations and prepare reports
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation; perform routine preventive maintenance
- Support quality assurance initiatives, including audits, corrective actions, and SOP updates
- Collaborate with team members to meet workload demands and operational deadlines
- Provide client support as needed, including phone inquiries and sample intake at designated locations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of professional hands-on laboratory experience, preferably within environmental testing
- Prior experience with BOD/CBOD, IC, FIA, Spectrophotometry, Wet Chemistry, SFA, titrations, and reagent preparation required, with hands-on proficiency in at least two methods required
- Strong knowledge of standardized testing methods and analytical data interpretation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat

- Strong personal organization and workflow control to stay efficient and on pace throughout the shift
- Fast-learning mindset with the ability to quickly master new systems, processes, and procedural requirements
- Strong problem-solving instincts with the ability to spot discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and take action in real time
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure with a strong sense of urgency and follow-through
- Clear, effective communication skills to coordinate seamlessly with a high-throughput team

Work Schedule
- Full-time, onsite position following a Monday - Friday from 6 AM to 2:30 PM
- Rotating weekend and holiday coverage required, including one Sunday every four weeks
- Ability to work outside normal business hours as needed to support operational demands and deadlines
