The Diesel Mechanic – Utility & Fleet Equipment plays a critical role in keeping utility vehicles and fleet equipment safe, reliable, and ready for daily operations. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and specialized utility equipment, working independently to manage maintenance priorities while supporting a fast-paced, safety-focused utility environment.

How You’ll Make An Impact
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines and related systems
- Perform hydraulic system repairs and maintenance
- Service and repair bucket trucks, digger derricks, and other utility-related equipment
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and routine servicing
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Develop, manage, and execute a fleet maintenance schedule
- Identify equipment issues early to reduce downtime and extend asset life
- Coordinate repairs, parts ordering, and service priorities independently
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies
What You Bring
- 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic (fleet, utility, or construction equipment preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across truck classes
- Proven experience with hydraulics and diesel systems
- Hands-on experience with light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks, bucket trucks, digger derricks, or similar equipment
- Ability to self-manage workload and maintenance schedules
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus, but not required)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Fleet maintenance management experience
- DOT inspection knowledge
- Welding or fabrication experience
- OEM or dealer training certifications
