Staff Accountant at Coastal Medical Transportation Service – Quincy, Massachusetts

Coastal Medical Transportation Systems is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and general ledger activities. This role is ideal for an Accountant who is eager to learn, takes initiative, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes while ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities

• Reconcile balance sheet and selected income statement accounts

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed

• Support payroll accounting, accruals, and related reconciliations

• Analyze variances and investigate discrepancies

• Assist with financial statement preparation and supporting schedules

• Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with GAAP

• Support internal and external audit requests

• Participate in process improvements and special projects

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)

• 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience

• Working knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles

• Experience with accounting/ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and lookups preferred)

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Independently motivated with a proactive mindset.

Compensation: The expected salary range for this position is $60,000–$70,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
