This field-based role plays a critical part in ensuring timely and appropriate patient access to oncology therapies within a complex reimbursement landscape. Acting as a key bridge between healthcare providers, payer systems, and patient support services, the position focuses on resolving access barriers and improving the overall reimbursement experience for specialty oncology products. The role requires strong expertise in payer dynamics, prior authorization workflows, and specialty pharmacy channels. It operates within a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment supporting product launches and lifecycle management. With a patient-first mindset, the position ensures providers and care teams receive clear, actionable guidance across the full access journey. This is a high-impact role combining strategic account management, field engagement, and patient advocacy across regional markets.
In this role, you will act as a field-based reimbursement expert responsible for improving patient access and resolving complex payer-related barriers across oncology therapies. You will partner closely with healthcare providers, hub services, and internal teams to ensure smooth reimbursement processes and optimal patient support outcomes.
- Proactively identify and resolve patient access challenges, including prior authorizations, appeals, denials, and payer-specific restrictions
- Monitor hub-enrolled patient cases and support timely resolution of reimbursement and coverage issues
- Educate oncology practices, billing teams, and clinical staff on payer policies, coverage requirements, and patient support programs
- Serve as a subject matter expert on regional and national payer landscapes, specialty pharmacy distribution, and reimbursement pathways
- Collaborate with Market Access, Patient Services, and hub partners to ensure seamless and compliant patient access processes
- Analyze payer trends and provide actionable insights to internal teams to improve access strategies and outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation of access barriers and ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards
- Foster strong cross-functional alignment across internal stakeholders and external healthcare partners
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in oncology market access, field reimbursement, or patient support, with deep knowledge of payer systems and specialty product distribution. You are highly analytical, collaborative, and skilled at navigating complex healthcare environments while maintaining a strong patient-centric approach.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MSN, MHA or similar) preferred
- 7–9+ years of experience in oncology, field reimbursement, market access, or patient services
- Strong understanding of payer dynamics, reimbursement processes, and specialty pharmacy channels
- Proven experience supporting oncology launches or working in high-growth, specialty pharmaceutical environments
- Ability to develop strategic account plans and manage complex stakeholder relationships
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, trends, and customer insights
- Experience working with CRM systems and sales or access analytics tools
- Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 60%
- Competitive base salary ranging from $216,000 to $241,000 USD annually
