Security Guard – Overnight Shift at Academy University Hill – Boulder, Colorado

In the role of Security Guard – Overnight Shift, you will be responsible for following applicable policies and procedures designed to protect and safeguard all residents, employees, guests and key physical assets of the Academy University Hill (AUH) community. This position will be working the overnight shift.

Responsibilities

• Follows the direction of the Security Manger in implementing all applicable policies and procedures designed to safeguard the community
• Performs all job duties in a manner that demonstrates respect for all residents, employees and guests
• Proactive in reporting suspicious activity on premises
• Making rounds (walking) to each floor of each building on a routine basis
• Confirming functional operation of door and locks throughout the entire community campus
• Reporting items of concern or that require attention
• Protects residents’ rights, records, and privacy as required by state regulations
• Practices AUH’s Service Standards in all work situations
• Presenting shift report and information for the shift change
• Maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality when handling sensitive employee, resident, and Academy Boulder matters

Qualifications

• Experience in security management within a commercial setting
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Exceptional adherence to honesty, integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
• Sense of humor and pleasant demeanor – ability to stay calm under pressure
• Empathy toward the elderly and to geriatric issues and challenges
  

Education and Experience

• Three plus years of security-related work experience
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related field, a plus
• AED certified, a plus
• CPR certification, a plus
