Description:

Position: Security Supervisor (Lieutenant)

Reports to: Security Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary: Acts as an ambassador of the casino while protecting company assets and provides a safe and secure environment for our employees and guests. The Security Supervisor is responsible for security functions on assigned shift. Performs all functions in accordance with applicable laws and gaming regulations, the mission and objectives of Tonkawa Enterprises, as well as established policies, procedures and controls.

Essential Duties:

  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
  • Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; eviction of trespassers.
  • Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures as needed.
  • Reviews all reports submitted to the security department personnel for accuracy and completeness.
  • Supervises the Security Officers in all forms of incident and investigative reports working with Surveillance and Compliance Officer.
  • Assist the Manager in maintaining, overseeing, and updating the training and evaluation program for the department.
  • Assists the Manager with ensuring that Security Officers are properly trained and current for all aspects of their job duties by providing ongoing instruction and program management. Provides detailed training on all equipment, services, and emergency procedures to new security officers.
  • Oversees and/or implements disciplinary action under the direction of the Security Manager.
  • Supervises all Sergeants and ensures that directives from the Security Manager are followed.
  • Supervises the Security Officers in patrol and monitoring of casino property including buildings and parking lot to help prevent theft, violence or infractions of rules.
  • Assists the Security Manager in maintaining department tracking records such as Head Count, Assess Denied, Attendance Logs, etc.
  • Supervises calls of incidents for officer safety, and emergency situations such as bomb threats, fire, robbery, and other type situations.
  • Monitors security and other radio traffic, and responds as necessary.
  • Supervises and participates in emergency preparedness training with security staff, and other employees as needed.
  • Supervises the Security Officers in providing crowd control and assist local law enforcement agencies in the event of emergency situations.
  • Sets an example for all other officers through observance of all conduct, demeanor, and appearance codes as detailed in the Security Manual.
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve the effectiveness of Security.
  • Understands and complies with all company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a cohesive work environment through teamwork within the department as well as with every department within the Casino.
  • Acts as Manager in his/her absence.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • C.L.E.E.T. (Council on Law Enforcement Education & Training) certification preferred.
  • Must have current state issued driver license.
  • Minimum of two years of Casino Security experience, preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of one year Supervisory Experience required.
  • Excellent time management skills required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Good Computer skills including Microsoft office skills needed to perform daily operations (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Ability to adequately control Radio Communications, Computer Logs, Key Control, Written Notes, and Telephone duties.
  • Must be able to compose written narratives in uses of Incident Reports, Employee Statements, etc.
  • Critical thinking skills required to perform duties of this position.
  • Must be able to work in a professional office environment, as well as on a Casino Floor with constant exposure to general public.

  • Physical agility to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs/ladders, work in small spaces, walk, reach and lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
  • Requires occasional heavy physical work; pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 75 pounds.
  • Work involves almost constant exposure to elements, such as dirt dust, fumes, smoke, flashing lights and loud noises.
