Wound Care Coordinator at Coralvita – Richardson, Texas
About This Position
Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating plan of care of facility patients with wound care needs. Provide specialized consultation and education on wound, ostomy and continence issues for patients, families, nursing and medical staff. The provision of care includes direct care along with the delegation and supervision of all wound, ostomy, and incontinence care. Specific components of the Registered Nurse role include demonstrating clinical competence; managing patient care; improving quality of care; establishing professional relationships and utilizing professional skills; fulfilling responsibilities of the role of the hospital; and developing clinical expertise per specialty.
Position Supervisory ResponsibilitiesSupervises the following positions: Wound Care Nurse, CNAs assisting with wound care.
Position Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment
required.
One (1) year experience in wound care required.
Current BLS certification from a CORALVITA-approved vendor required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:Certification in Wound Care preferred within 6 months of hire. Two years of experience will be considered in lieu certification.
Wound, Ostomy, Continence (CWOCN) certification preferred. Two (2) years experience working in wound care preferred.
Two (2) years experience working in an acute hospital preferred. Ability to project a professional image.
Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements. Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions. Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
Certificates, Licensures, RegistrationsCurrent, valid, and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment required. Current BLS certification from a CORALVITA-approved vendor required. Certification in Wound Care required within 6 months of hire.
