Engineer at The Berlin Steel Construction Company – West Chester, Pennsylvania

The Berlin Steel Construction Company is a full-service specialty contractor, primarily with structural steel and miscellaneous metals. We design, fabricate, and erect structures in the Northeast and in other parts of the country. We have 2 fabrication facilities, 4 erection operations facilities, and 6 office locations that provide engineering and management of projects. We are a 100% employee-owned company (ESOP) with a desire for growth. We service the private commercial, public, institutional, and industrial markets.

We are looking for talented and enthusiastic Structural Engineer to join our team in our Johnston, Rhode Island or West Chester, PA office. The person who fills this role will be responsible for the design of structural steel connections. This role will work independently providing engineering services to company offices ensuring the safety and integrity of company projects. In addition, this role will also be responsible to train engineers with less experience.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering with coursework in structural analysis of steel and concrete. Applicants must have a current PE license with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in commercial and industrial building design, preferably covering also steel connection, shoring and/or rigging design.

Applicants should have knowledge of IBC, AISC, ASCE, OSHA, ACI. Experience in structural design and knowledge of Staad Pro, Autocad, and Mathcad software is preferred.
